Born in 1979 in Milan, Luca Tombolini completed classical studies at high school and then a degree in Sciences of Communication with a major about visual rhetoric in Italian cinema. He developed a passion for landscape photography at the university and began experimenting with large format cameras. Through his photographs, Luca Tombolini creates poetic reflections on the meaning of life as well as space and time. The Milan based photographer is fascinated by rugged mountains or the vastness and solitude found in deserts. Those landscapes make him think about the origin of the cosmos as well as the meaning of life and our time-limited existence on this planet.
«In my photography I’m following a fascination for desert primordial places. Of course their aesthetics plays a part in the reason why i’m attracted to them, but no other places are so helpful in making that mind shift needed to try to enquire beyond our limited lifetime», says Luca.
Here are some awesome examples of Luca’s work.
